Computational Biology · UCLA Class of 2029
First-year student at UCLA pursuing a B.S. in Computational Biology on the Bioinformatics Track. Focused on RNA-seq analysis, differential gene expression, and building software at the intersection of biology and data.
Background
I am a first-year student at the University of California, Los Angeles studying Computational Biology with a concentration in Bioinformatics. I am drawn to the overlap between data science and molecular biology — particularly how computational tools can reveal patterns in genomic data that drive biological understanding.
Currently I work as a Bioinformatics Research Assistant in the Jessica Rexach Lab, where I run bulk RNA-seq pipelines and differential gene expression analyses. Alongside research, I am on the Software Team for the Rocket Project at UCLA and volunteer as a STEM educator with BEAM.
I am fluent in both Arabic and English and bring experience working in fast-paced, team-oriented environments.
